Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames in Battersea. It is the largest brick building in Europe and is notable for its original, lavish Art Deco interior fittings and decor. This ultimate iconic venue can comfortably cater for up to 700 guests making it the perfect venue for society and celebrity weddings.
Party Lights were delighted when approached by Wedding Planner Mark Niemierko to provide lights for this venue for a VIP wedding this weekend. As you would expect, the parties involved will have to remain a secret for the moment (perhaps we’ll read about it in a well-known magazine soon!) but needless to say there was no expense spared for this special occasion!
We were provided with an artist’s impression for the lighting at the venue by Art Director Nick Ellis who was responsible for design on the feature film “Bend it like Beckham” and numerous commercials and we worked hard to achieve a close match to these original designs.
This was a terrific job for us to do and we supplied paper lanterns, festoon lights and fairy lights in the Gallery, fairy lights in the x24 – small topiary trees aligning each side of the walkway and fairy lights in the prop built trees in the wedding breakfast room. The whole job took us 18 hours with a 4-man team but everyone was delighted with the finished results!
